Why We Decided to Close Spotex SRL
After almost four years, we decided to close Spotex SRL. In this article, I explain why this was not a failure, but a choice driven by strategic shifts, burnout, and a loss of alignment on mission and vision.

We decided to close the SRL.
After almost four years, we are shutting the doors. This is not a failure: we have no debts with anyone, and we have always paid everything on time.
So what is the reason for closing?
To understand that, we need to take a step back.
How Spotex Was Born
Spotex SRL was founded in January 2023, after my partner and I transitioned from two freelance VAT numbers into a limited liability company, bringing with us our small portfolio of clients. The company was born as an IT agency with the goal of making technology accessible and simple for everyone.
Our ideal customer was the small and medium-sized business that struggled to use digital tools to modernize its operations. That is where our slogan came from: Make IT Easier and Simple.
At the beginning, we were full of energy. We had a clear goal, we knew which problem we wanted to solve, and the workload was well distributed: my partner handled sales, while I took care of all the technical and operational work. Everyone told us we were a perfect match, two complementary parts.
When Something Changed
Then something changed.
The spark faded. My partner entered a phase of declining motivation and performance, while I began to accumulate stress and frustration. So much so that, in the summer of 2025, we decided to split the workload and responsibilities by bringing in two additional partners.
We needed motivation, fresh air, and new ideas. But above all, we needed external help.
Instead, that was the beginning of the company’s decline.
The new partners ended up pulling us away from the path on which the company had been built: its mission and vision. Meanwhile, I ended up in burnout, both from the workload and from the pressure of managing all internal and external stakeholders.
Why We Are Closing
And what happens to a tech company when it loses the only person who was actually delivering the technical service?
The answer is simple: try removing the engine from a Formula 1 car. Can it still race against the competition?
Exactly.
These are, today, the reasons why we are closing.
Do not let your company lose its values. Keep pushing your mission and vision forward: they are the only real foundation that can make a company truly sustainable.
In future posts, I will share what I decided to do next and how my career will evolve.
