A web app built from scratch so professionals can talk to the founder and join events. No CMS getting in the way.
The problem
A brochure site wasn't going to cut it. They needed an ecosystem: a place to promote an ideas lab and a direct line between professionals and the founder.
Constraints
- Sensitive user data
- Accurate, reliable information
- The client had to run it on their own
What I did
- Node.js backend with Express, EJS templates for the pages
- Real-time room-based chat with Socket.io
- JWT auth, Bcrypt-hashed passwords, CORS policies
- PostgreSQL database, managed with Knex.js
